A Selection of Decor Prints in Colour and Monochrome |
Art Prints
As we go through life we all look at what is happening around us, but so few of us ever bother to see and to absorb the pageant of daily life that is taken for granted and yet tomorrow is gone forever. A special gift possessed by a limited number of people is the ability to capture that moment on the vast time span of history and turn it into an evocative image of nostalgia which will bring a smile to the lips or a memory to the eye.
At the age of 14 I was given my first camera for a birthday present. My mother had little idea how much influence that gift would have on my future life.
Almost 40 years later, I returned to my early love of the monochrome image and to the influences of my youth to mount exhibitions of my evocative images of street life in Paris, London and other European locations. Working in the true traditions of the great European photographers of the middle of this century such as Cartier-Bresson, Doisneau and Ronis, my images capture the life that most of us pass by without a second glance. Cartier-Bresson described the decisive moment of the coming together of the eye, the mind and the subject to a perfect symmetry which forms the art of the photographer. The ability to recognise this symmetry and to capture it instinctively is a rare gift demonstrated in the photographs available.
More recently I have discovered an alter ego whilst working in colour, and both of my personas are available here to purchase as art prints.
